Thame Town were left rueing a 14-run penalty for running on the pitch as they suffered their first defeat of the season in Division 2 West of the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League with a two-wicket loss in the last over against Slough at Church Meadow.
Slough put the home side into bat to have a look at their new signing, Mohammad Talha, who made one Test appearance for Pakistan against Sri Lanka last year.
Thame started well, but the regular loss of wickets saw them bowled out for 220, with Mohammad taking 5-74.
Slough always looked in control as they set about their target, but Thame’s spirit and determination saw them claw their way back into the match.
However, Slough stumbled over the line in the last over.
