Oxford were made to fight all the way by Oxford & Bletchington Nondescripts in their Ron Maudsley Under 13 Trophy quarter-final.

An unbeaten 31 by Ben Reid, backed up by Freddy Campbell with 30 not out, saw Oxford reach 119-8 – a respectable score but their lowest of the season.

Christian Spallini was the pick of the Nondies bowlers with 3-7.

In reply Alex Davies, who finished with an unbeaten 31, led the charge, but it was not quite enough as Nondescripts finished on 90-3.

Cumnor will join Oxford in the last four after seeing off the challenge of Shipton A.

Big-hitting was the order of the day as Cumnor raced to 150-3, Jamie Cox’s 31 including six boundaries and Archie Wimborne reaching his 34 by thumping his last three balls for six.

Shipton subsided to 71 all out in reply, Seb Evans returning figures of 3-4.
