Martin Green clanged off 14 dolls including a maximum six as Black Swan eased to a 3-0 win at home to Dogwood in their Section 2 clash, writes ANDY BEAL.

Teammate Trevor Jones also hit a six in his 11-doll haul.

They won the first leg 21-18 and were then set 23 in the next leg.

In reply, they could muster only ten dolls between their first four players, but Green’s six and a five from Tony O’Brien brought them back into the leg as they clinched victory by three dolls. They clinched the final leg 28-20.

Despite scoring more dolls than their opponents, Queens Head lost 2-1 to Red Lion Marston.

Queens Head set the first leg with a handy 25, but Red Lion could not have had a better start in their reply as Billy Trinder clanged off a maximum six.

However, the rest of the team struggled and left their last two players nine to win. Terry Stuart then whipped off five dolls and anchorman Kevin Stuart clanged off five to win it by two dolls.

Queens Head easily took the second leg 20-13 and then set 17 in the decider.

Again it was left to Lion’s anchorman Kevin Stuart to whip off the four dolls needed to set up a three-stick shoot-out which they won.

Ian Bowler top-scored for Queens Head with 12 (3-5-4).

Neil Pratley bagged 13 dolls (4-5-4) for Woodman Inn as they beat New Club 2-1 away.

Woodman won the opener by the odd doll 18-17, but lost the next 22-15.

Woodman set 24 in the deciderwhich proved too much for New Club as they fell five dolls short.

Barry Gilding was top dog for New Club with a dozen dolls (5-4-3).

Six Bells’ Tony Barrett was in top form with 14 dolls (6-4-4) as they eased to a 3-0 win at home to Cowley Workers in a 27-13, 25-19, 21-13 scoreline.

Andy Young scored a six as Section 1 team Garsington Sports upset Premier side George 2-1.

Garsington raced to an early lead winning the first two legs 27-19 and 31-27.

George grabbed a point with a 30-29 victory in the final leg.

Barry Ruffels scored 13 (5-3-5) for Garsington.

Only one doll separated Cowley Con Club and Masons Arms in a Section 4 thriller.

The first two legs were tied 19-19 and 19-19 with Masons Arms winning them both on a three-stick shoot-out.

They sealed maximum points by winning the next 13-12. David Naylor top-scored with ten dolls (4-3-3).

Stuart Bishop led the way for Ampleforth Arms in Section 5 with a dozen dolls (2-5-5) as they defeated Catherine Wheel A 2-1.

They won the first two legs with ease 16-12, 21-10, but just missed out on maximum points losing the final leg 18-17.

A 13-doll haul from Whitmore Arms’ Malcolm Skuce was in vain as they lost 2-1 against Golden Ball B 2-1 in a 13-11, 12-11, 13-12 scoreline.

In Section 6, Nelson B came away from Red Lion Kidlington with the points following some impressive throwing.

Gary Coultard top-scored with 12 dolls (5-3-4) as they won all three legs 24-12, 23-11, 18-9.

Chequers B in Section 9 gained their first win of the season with a 2-1 success against Brill Club.

Adam Woodley top-scored with ten dolls (5-2-3) while teammate Neil Jackson failed to trouble the doll in the leg scores of 12-8, 16-15, 13-9.

In Section 11, Paul Smith smashed a six in his 11 dolls for North Oxford Cons Club as they silenced Eight Bells 3-0.

Cons won the opener 12-8, before winning the next on a three-stick shoot-out after ended tied 15-15, and taking the final leg 13-11.
