Quarry 09 landed the John Fathers Oxfordshire Junior Shield in their first season after a 2-0 victory over Witney & District FA Premier Division champions Hailey at the Polythene UK Stadium.
Quarry, who formed in the summer and are one win away from landing the RT Harris Oxford City FA title, are believed to be the first team in the competition’s history to win the shield in their inaugural year.
After a goalless first half, during which Quarry skipper Chris Baker saw a header come back off the bar, he made amends when he fired his side in front after the break.
The second goal was one that deserved to grace a final as Aaron Hall cut inside two markers before unleashing a stunning 40-yard strike which gave the Hailey keeper no chance.
