DIDCOT Town failed to close on Oxfordshire rivals Banbury and Oxford City after falling to a 1-0 defeat at Stourbridge in last night’s Premier Division clash.
Stuart Peace’s side, who travel to Rugby Town tomorrow, conceded the only goal of the game in the 65th minute when Ryan Rowe netted.
In Division 1 South & West, Aaron Posey scored the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time to give North Leigh a 1-0 victory at Andover.
Posey fired in from the edge of the box after a fine run from Joe Burnell.
Abingdon United conceded twice inside the opening 15 minutes as they went down 3-1 at Paulton Rovers.
Headed goals from Jordan Rose and Alex Ball, both from corners, left Abingdon a mountain to climb.
Jon Mills reduced the deficit in the 67th minute, but as Abingdon pushed forward looking for an equaliser, Callum McMahon’s own goal made the result safe.
