MATT Johnson retained Chipping Norton's Junior Championship after what many believe was the closest and most competitive event in the club's history.
Johnson defeated Tim Reynolds at the second extra hole, but that was far from the whole story.
In wet and windy conditions, Reynolds carded a gross 71 to Johnson's 73 in the morning round.
Another 71 in the afternoon saw Reynolds par the course at a gross 142, but Johnson came storming back with an amazing 69 to level the scores.
The rain got heavier in the play-off and the tenth hole was halved in par.
But Johnson carded a superb par four on the 18th to edge out Reynolds who bogied.
Johnson was also received Chippy's junior players' player-of-the-year award.
*FRILFORD Heath junior Katherine O'Connor, 16, finished ninth in the Welsh Ladies' Championships at Tenby.
O'Connor qualified for the matchplay stages of the championship.
But she couldn't stay as she had to return home to sit her GCSEs at Warriner School, Bloxham, this week.
