Oxford Cavaliers utility man Pete Baiden was bullish ahead of their TRL Conference West Midlands Division opener at Coventry Bears.
The two sides played each other in their first-ever competitive match ten years ago, so the clash will bring back many memories.
Baiden said: "This year the Cavs have a great pack, excellent half backs, and what we lack in experience in the backs, we make up for with sheer talent.
"We are a force to be reckoned with and I look forward to this coming season."
Oxford include full back Greg Cushing, who scored a hat-trick of tries on his debut.
He will be looking to build his partnership with Adam White, who bagged a four-timer last week.
Oxford Cavaliers (v Coventry, away): from Kenny, Tapping, J Conway, Blackstone, Skennerton, Kent, White, Outram, Elliott, Baker, Rees, S Conway, Lester, Shaw, Booth, Leat, Madley, Parlett, Carter, Cushing.
