REWI Tolich kept up his prolific form as leaders Chinnor saw off Basingstoke 28-8 at Kingsey Road.

His hat-trick came in arguably Chinnor's best performance this season.

Chinnor were on the scoresheet after two minutes when Tolich went over almost unnopposed and Matt Buckley converted.

Basingstoke's Simon Humberstone kicked a penalty, then Chinnor scrum half Morgan Thompson exploited a gap to score.

Buckley converted this and a second Tolich try on 30 minutes for a 21-3 lead.

Strong cover tackling by both sides kept the scoreline static, but an error by Humberstone allowed Jamie Hiscock to set up Tolich for his hat-trick in the 73rd minute.

Buckley converted this, with Basingstoke's Carl Saunders crossing over for their try in stoppage time.

Poor finishing cost Oxford Harlequins as they lost 24-12 at Cheltenham, but having to make eight changes cannot have helped.

Quins took the lead on 15 minutes when a line-out catch and drive set up scrum half Anthony Cope to touchdown.

Weak Quins tackling then saw Cheltenham right wing Bryan go under the posts.

Fly half Crisp converted and Cheltenham increased their lead in the 31st minute when centre Whitney scored wide out.

Quins' props Simon Chadbone and Tom Chapman both supported well and the former was unlucky not to hang on to a final pass just before the break.

Quins' persistence paid off in the 60th minute when a series of switches finally saw flanker Jamie Cope crash over and fly half Ben Cottenden converted.

Three minutes later, Cheltenham were back in the lead when full back Hanks finished off a move and Crisp converted.

Quins threw everything forward, with Andy Henley and Anthony Cope coming close, but Bryan's second score gave Cheltenham a flattering victory margin.
