Matty Taylor bagged a four-timer as North Leigh hammered Gosport Borough 5-1 in the Zamaretto Southern League tonight.

Taylor’s star turn came as the hosts made it eight Division 1 South & West matches without defeat.

They went ahead on two minutes when Taylor headed home Andy McCabe’s cross.

But the visitors were level two minutes later when Stuart Huxley scored an own goal as he tried to clear Michael Turvey’s shot.

North Leigh were level at the break after keeper Adam Lonsdale made three great saves, but McCabe drove in No 2 on 53 minutes.

Taylor struck again on 71 minutes and turned in substitute Chris Allen’s cross to complete his treble five minutes from time.

Taylor headed home Stuart Hole’s 89th-minute corner to cap a great night.

Ian Sampson struck an equaliser deep into stoppage time as Didcot Town drew 1-1 at home to Nuneaton Town in the Premier Division.

His superb free-kick went in off the post to level a match in which Didcot had largely been under the cosh.

The kick-off was delayed after Nuneaton kitman Alan Cooper died en route to the game.

Nuneaton went ahead through Chris Dillon on 23 minutes and Rob Foster struck the crossbar.

Alex Stanley headed a good chance over the bar for Didcot, but they were still relieved with the point.
