Simon Clist gave Oxford United a 19th-minute lead at Grays today in a vital Blue Square Premier game for the U's.
The midfielder tucked home a ten-yard shot after tenacious play from Dannie Bulman, Alfie Potter and Sam Deering.
Clist also proved his worth at the other end, clearing a Jamie Guy shot off the line.
It remained 1-0 to Oxford until half-time.
