Headington Conservative Club A paid the penalty for fielding only two players, as they lost 2-1 against Ashton A in Division 1 of the Oxford & District League.

John Williams (+70) hit a 26 break to give Headington the lead with a 150-91 victory over Pete Fenn (+50).

However, with Terry Chambers already handed a walkover due to Headington’s failure to field a full team, John Street (+50) won the match for Ashton by beating Doug Howse (+30) 200-130.

Riley B saw off their A team clubmates 2-1 to stretch their lead in Division 2 to 19 points.

Roger Tomlin (+90) put the B team ahead when he crushed Malcolm Bough (+20) 200-141.

Alan Copelin (+90) levelled with a 150-132 win against Keith Maskens (+50).

But Bob Hayward scored the winning point, seeing off Bob Lacey (+100) 150-112.

New Club came away from Cowley Conservative Club A with a 2-1 win.

Dick Hashman (+10) made breaks of 28 and 23 to beat Dave White (+80) 200-169 and put Cowley into the lead.

Alan King (+10) then made two breaks of 25 on his way to a 200-177 success over Terry Cook (+20) to level the match.

Alan Mander (+60) then eased past Keith Pearce (+50) 150-92, including a 22 break.

Thame defeated Oracle 2-1, Tom Fletcher (+80) setting the ball rolling with a 150-145 win over Craig Pullen (+110).

Shaun Lewis (+110) beat Peter Hawkes (+135) 100-86 to level, but Nigel Bossom (+10) sealed Thame’s win with a 200-192 success over Gordon Cook (+70).

Cowley Conservative B reached the last four of the Stephen Reiss Cup with a 4-1 win over Riley B.
