THE BIG freeze may have wiped out most of the weekend’s sporting fixtures in Oxfordshire, but two league games survived the freezing weather.
Charlton United defeated Slade Farm United 2-0 in their Division 1 derby clash.
Steven Gardner fired them in front in the first half.
A second-half strike from Sam Caple wrapped it up.
Darren White hit a hat-trick in Fritwell Res’s 6-3 thrashing of Oxford University Press 6-3 in their Division 2 encounter.
White’s brace and a strike from his brother, Adam White, saw Fritwell stroll into a 3-0 lead at half-time.
After the break, Fritwell kept up the pressure, with White completing his treble.
Paul Darch wrapped-up their tally with their fifth goal.
Mike O’Neil bagged a treble in reply for OUP.
