Former Oxford Harlequins flanker Chris Alcock has been named in New South Wales Waratahs’ Super 14 squad.
The 21-year-old was handed a contract for the 2010 season after impressing for Sydney club Gordon in this year’s Tooheys New Shute Shield.
Alcock was outstanding for Quins in 2007, while working at the Dragon School and was Gordon’s leading colts player the following year.
Meanwhile, Quins will begin their defence of the Oxfordshire Cup at Grove on January 2.
The preliminary round tie was postponed from November 21.
The winners will entertain Henley 2nd in the first round on either February 6 or 7.
