Oxford ladies slipped to third in the Midlands 1 table after a 14-6 defeat at Worcester 2nd.

The visitors arrived in confident mood and two penalties from Felicity Brookes had them right in the match at 7-6 down, but Worcester closed out the win.

Oxford are only four points behind leaders Buckingham Swans and have a game in hand, so are still in the title hunt.

They are next in action at home to Loughborough in January.

Witney Angels, whose home game with Longton was postponed, are bottom of the table.

GOSFORD All Blacks and Abingdon have both been deducted two points from their BB&O Premier Division tallies.

The penalty for Gosford came after they fielded back-row forward Jack Clarke when he was unregistered – despite him having previously played for the club.

Abingdon were punished for a similar offence and now lie bottom with fellow Oxon club Harwell on zero points.

HENLEY Hawks Wanderers sit top of Rugby Tech Shield Division 2 after winning ten out of ten matches, while Chinnor 2nd are seventh.
