Witney United boss Andy Lyne says his side are full of confidence ahead of Saturday's FA Carlsberg Vase third round home tie with fellow Hellenic League side Almondsbury Town.

Witney reached the last 32 last season, only to go out 1-0 to eventual finalists Lowestoft Town.

After a 5-1 victory in the last round against Erith & Belvedere, Witney have lost once in their last 13 games, and Lyne believes they have a good chance of success.

He said: “We have won ten of those 13 games, so we are in reasonable form.

“But we know what a massive challenge it will be to overcome Almondsbury. They are a top team packed with quality and experience.”

Striker Ben Thompson returns after injury, while Andrew Younie, Anaclet Odhiambo and Dan Szczukiewicz are also back.

However, young defender Jack Smith is unavailable to play in the Vase as he is a loan player.

Lyne added: “Almondsbury will be tough, but going forward, we are as good as any team in the league, so we will approach the game confidently.”

Witney Utd: from Okole, D Smith, Henderson, Cattell, Byfield, Butler, Szcz-ukiewicz, Harper, JP Mills, McMahon, Styles, Odhiambo, Younie, Wickens, Bridges, Thompson, Zoldan.
