Oxford Harlequins director of rugby John Brodley considers that Saturday's match at home to Redingensians in National 3 South West will define the rest of the season.

Quins are third, one place ahead of their visitors.

“If we can beat Redingensians it will show that we are capable of challenging for the promotion play-off spot,” said Brodley.

With Taunton heading for the automatic promotion place, Brodley feels a victory will cement their place, while a defeat could leave them in the chasing pack.

Brodley also paid tribute to Quins’ Australian fly half Jeff Stewart, who scored 17 points in their 42-22 win over Reading last week.

“Jeff’s a very good player, who has made a big difference,” said Brodley.

Chinnor, who suffered a surprise 20-14 reverse at lowly Exmouth last week, will be aiming to get back to winning way at home to another Devon side, Barnstaple.

Veteran prop Simon Matthews, having served a two week suspension for a sending-off, is added to the squad.

“The heavy pitch was a great leveller, but we still should have won the game,” said Chinnor head coach Jason Bowers.

Former Worcester Warriors and England Sevens cap Ben Jones makes his debut at scrum half as Henley Hawks host Shelford in National 2 South.

Jones, who is on loan from Championship side Birmingham & Solihull, will be partnered at fly half by James Combden, who makes his first start .

Lock Steve Green returns after missing Hawks’ 48-3 defeat at Rosslyn Park, with Oliver Atkinson dropping to the bench.

Alex Dupee moves to blind-side flanker in place of concussion victim Jack Hennings, with Adam Holloway coming in at No 7.

Derek Viljoen, who has missed the past month through injury, returns at scrum half for Wallingford for their trip to Olney in South West 1 East. He comes in for Matt Dawes.

The only other change sees Darren Small replace injured Ed Jenkins in the front row.

Forwards Rich Kerr and Owen Fowler return to Witney’s squad for the visit of Windsor in Southern Counties North.

No 8 Wayne Caffekey and prop Mark Serle drop out from the squad that won 33-10 at Chipping Norton.
