Successes at the Scullers Head are not easy to come by, but City of Oxford managed a hat-trick of them over the Mortlake to Putney course last Saturday.

All three of the Oxford wins came for their women.

Holly Holden, who won her first Great Britain vest this year in the junior ‘joupe’ jeam, had a comfortable win in the women’s J18 singles to add yet another trophy to her considerable collection.

Anna Reid, a national champion and Henley finalist in a four this year, won the women’s intermediate 3 singles with a placing of 164th among the 417 comp-etitors who finished the course.

Nicola Smith, a Henley finalist in 2005 and 2006 and in the 2008 club’s quad scull, finished behind Reid but won the women’s intermediate 2 honours Wallingford continued their good au-tumn sculling success ratio with two more wins.

Sean Morris won the veteran G singles, thanks to his finishing slot of 175th, while Caroline Greves, younger sister of British senior international Katie, was the fastest intermediate lightweight of the day.
