Former Oxford United midfielder Andy Burgess has been charged by the FA with two counts of illegally betting on matches.
Burgess, who is on loan at Mansfield Town from Luton Town, is charged with two breaches of FA Rule E8a when he is alleged to have bet on the result of a match in which he played, and betting on the progress or conduct of a match in which he played, while at Rushden & Diamonds.
The charges relate to the Rushden v Mansfield game on February 28, 2009, and the Rushden v Kidderminster on November 15, 2008.
Burgess has until Friday to respond.
