Justin Barnes scored a second-half double in ABK Sports 2-0 win against Steeple Aston in the Banbury District & Lord Jersey FA Premier Division.
After a goalless first half, in which much of the pitch was obscured by smoke from a nearby garden fire, Barnes struck twice to keep his side top of the pile.
Sean Paris notched a brace in KEA’s 5-1 victory against Hornton.
Marc Jones, Sam Donaldson and Kieran Chambers completed their tally, with Paul Jackson replying for Hornton.
Anthony Davidson hammered a first-half hat-trick for Highfield OB as they moved five points clear at the top with a 7-3 victory at Deddington.
Davidson’s treble and a Ben Booth saw Highfield stroll into a 4-0 lead, with a Simon Hall double, including a penalty, replying.
A Dan Huntley brace and a Sunny Herriott strike put Highfield in control, before Andy England slotted a third goal for Deddington.
In Division 2, The Swan fought back before making it ten wins out of ten with a 5-1 victory at Souldern.
Jean-Pierre De Kreek gave Souldern a first-half lead.
After the break, it was a different story with goals from Darren Foster, Martin Woodward, Elvis Pieterson, Greg Wright and Danny Cowley – his 20th goal for the season – completing their comeback.
ABK Sports Res won 2-1 at Steeple Aston Res in Division 3, thanks to a double from James McMahon. Christopher Damm replied.
