Launton Sports 1 (Phillips 63)
Ardley Utd 5 (Blossom 32, 50, 90, Bridges 55, Bone 83)
Wayne Blossom smashed a hat-trick in Ardley’s comfortable first-round victory at Launton on Saturday in the Oxfordshire Senior cup.
Early on, Sports keeper Nick Lacey denied Danny Bone from point-blank range.
Ardley took the lead just after the half-hour mark when Bone crossed for Blossom to fire home.
Seconds earlier, Launton’s Cleeve Edwards hit the bar.
After the break, Blossom headed home his second, before Stuart Bridges rounded the keeper to score his first goal for the club.
Luke Phillips clawed one back after cutting in from the left and unleashing an unstoppable shot.
That was as good as it got for the Division 1 West basement boys, with Bone netting No 4 and Blossom completing his treble to set up a second-round trip to Division 1 East high-fliers Thame United.
A Luke Cuff hat-trick saw
Headington Ams 4 (L Cuff 4, 41, 90, Hill 49)
Clanfield 2 (Oswin 45, Olphert 74)
Headington through this tie, but they were also indebted to a brilliant Harry Jenkins penalty save.
Cuff gave Headington an early lead with a speculative shot, before Neil Lockhart made it 2-0.
Olly Oswin reduced the arrears, only for a Jay Hill strike to make it 3-1.
Steve Olphert pulled one back before Jenkins produced a stunning save from the spot kick.
Cuff then latched on to a long clearance from Jenkins to complete his hat-trick.
