Only two teams will be relegated from National 2 South this season with three promoted from its National 3 feeder leagues, the RFU have confirmed.
National 2 South, in which Henley Hawks play, was reduced from 16 to 15 teams after Mounts Bay folded this summer, but it will now have a full complement in 2010-11.
The move will have a knock-on effect, which could benefit other Oxfordshire teams.
Only five teams in total will be relegated from National 3 South West and National 3 London rather than six.
Should only two go down from the south west division, that would make it easier for Oxon sides to stay up every level below that.
