Oxford United are set to strengthen over the next few days, with the likely target an attacking player.
U’s boss Chris Wilder said following the team’s 3-1 defeat at Kidderminster: “We were looking to strengthen in and around Christmas anyway.
“But with Matt Green’s injury and with Alfie Potter having been out a long time with his illness, and Marcus Kelly’s injury, we might now do it earlier.
“The loan window closes on November 27, so if it’s a loan, it’s got to be done by then.”
United currently have four loanees – Green, Ross Perry, Steven Kinniburgh and Potter.
Meanwhile, United are out of the FA Youth Cup after a 1-0 defeat in the second round at Millwall.
The only goal came three minutes before half-time from the penalty spot following a foul by Henry Owen.
Captain James Dobson was sent off for two yellow cards late on.
Coach Les Taylor said: “The game could have gone either way and I was pleased with out performance.”
