North Leigh strolled to a 3-0 victory over Abingdon United in a feisty Zamaretto Southern League Youth Cup first round tie at Eynsham Park.
North Leigh were thankful to goalkeeper Mike Hedges for a couple of early saves, before Sam Doherty fired them in front, latching on to Ryan Frost’s pass to score from a tight angle.
The lead was doubled when Jordan Anderson volleyed home a wayward Paul Drew shot into the bottom corner.
Things got heated after the break as first an Abingdon player was sent off for foul language, and then North Leigh were reduced to ten men after a scuffle.
Hedges produced another fine save, before North Leigh substitute Zach Harding netted from Doherty’s corner to complete victory.
