Benson AFC reached the second round of the North Berks League's War Memorial Cup with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win against neighbours Benson Lions after a 4-4 draw following extra-time.

Alex Smallshaw (2), and Steve Burns had scored for Lions in normal time, but Tom Tuckwell, Joe Flower and a late strike from Adam Cowling took the game into extra time.

Will Wardell scored for Lions and Nick Skiller for the visitors to send the game to penalties – Russ Flower scoring the winning kick.

Harwell International won 3-1 at Botley United, with goals from Mike Yardley (2) and Jamie Clark. Andy Potter netted for the hosts.

Tom Weeks notched a five-timer in Childrey United’s 7-1 thrashing of fellow Division 2 side Marcham. Steve Weaving and Alan Haines got their others, with Phil Stokes hitting back.

Grove Rangers beat Coleshill United 9-2, with Brad Ritchie scoring five.

Dave Stebbings (2), Ben Eltham and Dean Worthington completed their tally, with Dan Broadbank and Shane Blake netted for the visitors.

Long Wittenham Athletic strolled to a 12-0 victory over Division 4 basement boys Appleton Stars.

Joe Harvey (4), Luke Saunders (3), Steve Molloy, Andy Marriott, Mark Ingram, Andy Cooper and Phil Lynch also netted.

Sutton Courtenay ran out emphatic 7-2 winners at home to Stanford in the Vale.

Dan Cox netted a hat-trick, Pawel Bromzinski bagged a brace, and Karl Crockford and Wayne Grant both scored for Sutton, while Mike van de Mortel and Ross MacDonald scored for Stanford.
