Oxford University student Tom Solesbury played his part as Great Britain’s men’s eight booked their spot in Sunday’s World Rowing Championship final in Poznan, Poland, with a last-gasp win over Australia.
Solesbury said: “Our target’s got to be a medal. There’s no reason why not.”
But the women’s quadruple scull, which includes Oxford’s Katie Greves, face a repechage race to reach the semi-finals after finishing second to Ukraine.
