Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League - Division 2 West

Batsmen Ed Barnett and Adam McBrien replace spinner Ryan Murray and the unavailable Daniel West as Thame Town visit Burnham on Saturday.

Having opened up with a convincing win over Wokingham, captain Rob Brooks said there was plenty of optimism among his players.

“We played really good cricket in two of the three sessions,” said Brooks.

“It was quite a decent track to bat on, but when you lose Manoj early on, there is always a chance of as house of cards.

“Luke Merry batted very maturely and took the tail with him.

“This time last year we had a few availability problems and the weather was horrible.

“Hopefully, we can now set ourselves up with a few wins.”

Aston Rowant skipper Wes Morrick names an unchanged XI for their match against Beaconsfield at Wilton Park.

Morrick scored 55 not out and took 5-45 in Rowant’s draw against Falkland, which was his Home Counties Premier League debut.

He said: “I’m pretty happy with our line-up, but I wasn’t quite as happy with how we performed last week.

“I thought we should have won the game. Hopefully the guys can turn it around this week.

“We are looking to bounce back.”
