Shahbaz Alam smashed a ton as reigning Oxfordshire champions Cumnor raced to a nine-wicket win at Kingston Bagpuize in the npower Village Cup second round.

Opener Shahbaz finished unbeaten on 101 and with Graham Scott (50no), Cumnor coasted past Bagpuize’s 182-5 with 11.5 overs to spare.

Andy Howard (88) had been Kingston’s mainstay, supported by Marco Cecchini (47).

Cumnor now host Freeland, who beat The Baldons with a century from Russell Todd, in Oxon’s last eight.

Horspath, county runners-up for the last three years, scraped home by two wickets against Tiddington.

Nick Pykett (67) blasted seven sixes to take Tiddington to 210-9 as Ben Cook took 3-26.

Brothers Robbie (42) and Will Eason (41) set Horspath on the way, before Phil Chanel (42no) and some big blows from Andy Cummings saw them home with four balls to spare, Ian Pykett taking 4-62.

Horspath host Hanborough after they beat Warborough & Shillingford by 32 runs.

Matt Busby (59) and Craig Wood (50) took Hanborough to 191-6. Richard Brown (4-38) helped restrict Warborough to 159-9.

Tom Geeson-Brown was another century-maker as Great & Little Tew won at Peppard to set up a trip to Aston Rowant, who gained a walkover from Cropredy.

Shipton-under-Wychwood also received a walkover – from Bledington – and now visit Oxford Downs, who beat Kidmore End.
