Didcot Town were kicking themselves after they conceded two goals in the last three minutes and had to settle for a 2-2 draw with relegation-threatened Winchester in the british Gas Business Southern League In a thrilling Division 1 South & West match, Didcot were again unable to preserve a two-goal lead.

They now must ensure they pick up enough points in their remaining four matches to retain their place in the play-offs.

Didcot, who lost Andy Parrott with a badly cut head after 11 minutes, brought two good saves out of former Oxford United keeper Chris Tardif before taking the lead late in the first half.

Josh Dutton-Black’s surging run down the left flank ended with a pinpoint cross to Jack King, who headed home past the despairing Tardif.

The hosts made it 2-0 midway through the second half, when King who turned provider for Dutton-Black, who rifled the home from a tight angle.

After Didcot’s Neville Roach missed an open goal, James Rowe’s left-foot cross was headed home by Jones Awuah.

Moments later, from a disputed throw-in, Rowe’s cross found Awuah on the edge of the six-yard box and he headed past Michael Watkins.
