ST James staged a sensational finish to the season to win the Oxford & District League Division 1 title.

Trailing Forum A, St James needed to win their final three games – and win them well – to take top spot.

An 8-2 win over Bicester A gave them hope, before a 9-1 victory against Gladiators A put them in a great position.

They sealed the title with a 6-4 win over Forum B.

Andy Misseldine led the charge for St James, with a maximum on all three occasions, ably supported by Jason Tustain, Tony Stead and Mike Wilkins.

The fate of the title was in doubt right to the end, with Misseldine beating Jeremy Flint 15-13 in the deciding frame.

In Division 2, Gladiators B could only field a two-man side against Forum D, but another maximum for Xing Jiu-Huang, and two for Yungtai Hsu enabled them to win 6-4.

This means they can still finish as champions if they win their last match.

In Division 4, Holton were crowned champions after drawing with Forum G, then beating Forum H 7-3.
