SURPRISE, surprise . . . the Conference's own review into their administrative procedures has finally been revealed – and shown they couldn't find any problems!
Conference chairman Brian Lee said it was up to clubs to ensure their players were correctly registered, that staff at the Conference had been "unfairly criticised" and that there had been "unwarranted abuse" from supporters' trusts.
Their findings are likely to spark a backlash from supporters of Oxford, Mansfield and Bognor Regis, who have asked the FA to step in to review the Conference's administrative procedures.
The Conference claim that their random checks of teamsheets are in line with other leagues, despite an Oxford Mail investigation showing that amateur leagues throughout Oxfordshire have far more efficient ways of carrying out their player registration checks.
