Droopys Quinta showed her class in some style when trotting up in the Pattinson Construction Trafalgar Puppy Cup qualifier and looks the pick in tonight’s £1,000 final.

The white and black bitch had to give best to runner-up Droopys Lancelot in crowding at the first bend, but found another gear from the third bend to romp away winning by six-and-a-half lengths in a superb 26.59.

If there is a danger to the nap selection, it could well come from Liz McNair's Aughacasla Jesse.

Denied first run by Oxford hope Freedom Emma, Jesse pounced on the run-in to win by a length posting just three spots short of Droopys Quinta's time.

Quinta just gets the nod, but with three middle runners and three wide runners, there could be carnage at the first bend as each runner battles for the lead.

Peter Philpott and McNair are double-handed in the final, while the locals will be rooting for the Richard Yeates-trained Freedom Em-ma.
