Harwell were undone by a last-gasp try as they lost 25-23 at Phoenix in the BB&O Premier Division.

Phoenix took the lead with a try inside two minutes.

But scores from forwards Matt Wild and Mike Giddings, both converted by Ryan Hodnett, along with a couple of Hodnett penalties, gave Harwell a comfortable lead.

It was 20-20 at half-time, though, as Phoenix’s dangerous backs managed three more tries.

Hodnett looked to have won it for Harwell with a penalty late on.

Gosford All Blacks lost 25-5 at Drifters in a game they ended with 13 men due to injury.

James Hamilton gave Drifters the lead with a try converted by James Branscombe.

Gosford lost No 8 Liam Beesley to a neck injury, but hit back with Dan Hughes and James Holburn creating a try for Murray Stewart.

Gosford prop Rick Benito was yellow carded, while they also conceded two tries, the first a penalty try converted by Branscombe.

Branscombe added two penalties in the second half, while Gosford lost prop Matt Williams and hooker Brian Strong to injury, plus flanker Alex Webb to the sin bin.

Kevin Watkins bagged a brace of tries as Littlemore thrashed Grove 2nd 41-7 in BB&O Divsion 1 South.

Max O’Donnell, Dean Andrews, Darren Massey, Ashley Hollis and Jason Chambers also crossed over with Hollis converting three.
