Witney bounced back in style from their opening day defeat to crush Swindon 35-14 in Southern Counties North.

Four first-half tries, all converted by Henry Lamb, were the key to the visitors' victory.

Flanker Wayne Caffekey was the opening tryscorer after some fine work from Adam Hicks and Tom Whelan.

Another try came after Swindon were caught in defence and a couple of slick passes saw scrum half Phil Gouldie scamper over.

Veteran prop Mark Serle emerged from a driving maul with a rare score for Witney's third.

Adam Hicks went close with a 60-metre run before lock Alan Richens peeled off the side of a maul to notch try No 4.

Swindon came out fired up after the break and scored two converted tries.

Witney knuckled down in defence and they managed a fifth try late on with skipper Jez Hicks stretching over after replacement prop Lee Ashford darted down the blindside.

Henry Lamb's touchline completed a useful win.

Chipping Norton lost 42-8 at Milton Keynes despite dominating for long periods.

They were 9-0 down in as many minutes thanks to three penalties as they disagreed with the referee's interpretation of the ELVs.

An Adam Smith penalty was the only response Chippy could muster despite some sustained pressure.

When the visitors finally create a try-scoring chance, they ended up conceding an interception score, which was converted.

After the break, a wonderful flowing move which started deep in Chippy's half was finished off by Will Curtis.

At 16-8 Chippy were back in the game and piling on the pressure with 15 minutes left.

However a series of yellow cards ended their interest and Milton Keynes raced away with four more tries.

Bicester went down to a 34-15 defeat at Aylesbury, but were still in the game with seven minutes to go.

The visitors went ahead after just two minutes when Ross Kenny's diagonal run set up a try for full back Paul Leverton, converted by Steve Risbridger.

Risbridger added a penalty, but Aylesbury centre Gary Horne replied in kind.

The hosts were level when Horne converted a try from fly half Martin Watkins.

Bicester regained the lead with flanker Dan Spencer going over from a penalty after good work from Leverton, Anthony Lewis and Nigel Cox.

Horne converted his own try to give Aylesbury a narrow lead, while flanker Chris Franks's score made it 22-15.

Late tries from Tom Evans, converted by Horne, and Christian Hansen sunk Bicester late on.

Grove gave a battling display in their 26-15 defeat at Windsor.

Two tries and a conversion saw Grove trail 12-0 after ten minutes.

Impressive performances from Richard Keen, Jimmy Wallbridge and Steven Dixey in the front row got Grove going and full back Roger Sevier kicked a penalty.

A pushover try from No 8 and captain Jon Smart, converted by Sevier, made it 12-10 at the break.

Another Grove mix-up gifted Windsor a try, but the visitors rallied with Smart going over again.

Windsor's defence held firm and they sneaked a late converted try on the counter attack.
