OXFORD United dropped out of the Sky Bet League One play-off places after Lincoln City’s win at Cheltenham Town.

The U’s began the day in sixth, however the Imps came from behind to take all three points at Whaddon Road.

Former United midfielder Liam Sercombe had given the Robins the lead after quarter of an hour, but the Imps responded with a goal in each half from Joe Taylor and Freddie Draper.

Fellow League One play-off hopefuls Blackpool won 3-2 at home to fifth-placed Barnsley, to ensure four sides will be competing for the final two top six spots on the final day.

Sonny Carey, James Husband and Hayden Coulson put the Seasiders three goals up, before John McAtee and Adam Phillips pulled goals back for the Tykes.

Going into the final day of the season, Barnsley sit fifth on 75 points, with the Imps in sixth on 74 points. The U’s are seventh, also on 74 points, but with a goal difference five worse off than the Imps. Blackpool are eighth on 73 points.

Elsewhere in the third tier, champions Portsmouth lost 2-1 at home to Wigan Athletic, while Derby County just about clinched promotion with a 1-0 win at Cambridge United. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing scored the game’s only goal.

Third-placed Bolton Wanderers beat Port Vale 2-0, to relegate the Valiants, while Peterborough United, in fourth, won 2-0 at Bristol Rovers.

Leyton Orient lost 1-0 in stoppage time at home to Fleetwood Town, a result which still relegated the Cod Army.

Wycombe Wanderers won 3-1 at Carlisle United, while Exeter City, who host United on the final day of the season, won 2-1 at Northampton Town.

Charlton Athletic drew 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury Town, with Reading beaten 3-2 at Burton Albion.
