TOP doll scorer Kevin Baker from Gladiators A was in superb form again as he clanged off 15 dolls, including his fifth six of the season (4-6-5) as they came from behind to beat Garsington Sports 2-1 on their own patch.

Gladiators set 26 in the opening leg and in reply Garsington, with a three-doll handicap, hit their best score this season with 32 to take an early lead. The Glad’s won the second leg 25-22 and then completed the turnaround in the final leg 25-20.

Jeff Glenister bagged himself a six in his 14-doll haul (6-5-3) for North Leigh FC in their 2-1 home win against Red Lion A Kidlington. Hitting their best score this season, North Leigh won the first two legs at a canter 29-25, 27-19, however Lion roared back in the final leg winning it 29-23.

Premier leaders The White House had to dig deep to come away from Rose Hill Club B with a 2-1 victory. Setting all three legs, White House won the first leg 25-22. They then scrambled over the line in the second leg, 23-22, before Rose Hill grabbed a deserved point in the final leg 25-24.

The George A’s Section One title ambitions took a nose dive when they lost at home to New Club, who won the opening leg 26-10 and hit 25 to go two up. A set of 25 was enough to give The George a point in the final leg.

There was a shock in Section Two when leaders Chequers B crashed to a 3-0 defeat against lowly Gladiators B, who hit their best score this season. They comfortably won all three legs 21-14, 26-19, 19-16. Red Lion B took full advantage of the slip and moved joint-top after a 3-0 win at home to The Blackbird.

Section Three leaders Donnington Club D’s unbeaten record was blown out of the water when they lost 2-1 at Viking Sports. The hosts raced into a 2-0 lead but just fell short in the final leg, losing it on three-sticks after it was tied 18-18.

Second-placed Bletchington Sports Club are waiting for any more slip ups by the leaders, however they couldn’t take full advantage after they dropped a leg at The Cricketers Littleworth in a very close game where only one doll separated the teams overall.
