PETER Schroeck hopes his Oxford Chargers side can rediscover their impressive home form 62 days on from their last meeting at Sandy Lane.

Chargers welcome Kent Royals in the National League this evening and have been out of action completely since June 24, when they won 51-39 at Workington Comets.

The fixture lull has dropped Chargers to fourth in the table, but the team boasts meetings in hand over top three sides Leicester Lion Cubs, Mildenhall Fen Tigers and Belle Vue Colts.

Schroeck said: “We’ve got a good record on home shale and confidence in the camp is strong despite not riding as a team for a number of weeks.

“Kent have relied on their home form to pick up points, but we can’t afford to be complacent here.

“This is a good opportunity to leap back into the play-off frame and we can’t allow any silly mistakes to jeopardise that.

“I’m excited to see how Luke [Killeen] and Jason [Garrad] pair together at reserve. Luke has been itching to go for a couple of weeks now but the weather simply hasn’t been kind, and Jason is in the same boat.

“We’re entering a busy period now, so it’s key we lay down a marker here and continue our push to qualify for the end-of-season grand final.”
