IN dreadful weather conditions, it was a testament to the commitment of the teams and players that most games were played.

Gladiators A failed to capitalise on Premier leaders White House not playing when they fell to a 2-1 defeat at The New Club.

Gladiators won the opening leg 19-17 and then set 22 in the second leg. In reply, New Club only had 10 on the board with three to go, however the tail wagged to hit the 13 required with Mark Washington hitting the winning doll with his final stick.

In the final leg, New Club hit their best leg of the season with 27, enough to win the leg and game as Gladiators could only hit 21 in reply. James Bennett threw well for his 13 dolls (4-5-4) for New Club.

North Leigh FC had to come from behind to beat The Swan A 2-1. Setting all three legs, Swan won the opening leg 18-15 and then set 16 in the next leg. A change of anchor man by North Leigh brought rewards as Spencer Buckingham whipped off the winning dolls as they snatched the leg by the odd doll. A set of 16 by the Swan in the deciding leg was not enough as North Leigh swept passed that with 22.

Section One leaders Red Lion B Cassington had a comfortable night at home to Garsington Sports, winning the three legs 20-10, 19-12, 18-14. Nigel King bagged himself a six in his 12-doll haul (4-2-6) for The Lion.

In Section Three, good consistent throwing by Kidlington FC B saw them beat The Cricketers Littleworth 3-0 on their own patch and move into second place.

Blecthington Sports’ climb up the table continues after they defeated Yarnton British Legion at home 3-0.

Viking Sports made it three wins on the bounce with a 3-0 victory at home to Donnington Club B. Vikings won the first leg 12-9 and then when chasing a set of only five in the second leg, they made hard work of it and scrapped by with eight. Vikings secured the maximum win in the final leg 15-9.
