Home Counties Premier League

Banbury can put themselves firmly in the Division 1 title race with victory at leaders High Wycombe tomorrow.

That is the view of captain Benji Hector with Banbury entering the match on the back of two successive wins.

"This is a good opportunity for us with Wycombe being top of the league," said Hector.

"A win there would really put us within striking distance.

"It was probably our best performance of the season against Reading on Saturday.

"It was the best cricketing surface we've played on all season and we bowled brilliantly.

"To have any opposition 12-4 on that pitch was unbelievable.

"I was delighted we were able to finish the innings of and go on to win."

Banbury add all-rounder Nathan Hawkes to the team from last week.

Batsman Marc Rorich will look to keep his place after playing well at the top of the order.

Joe Porter replaces Tim Marcon for Oxford's home game with Falkland.

They have named a 12-man squad with Ian Crosby hoping to have shrugged off his rib injury.

Having seen their long unbeaten run fall at Tring Park last week, captain Jason Harrison wants a better performance.

He said: "We had a 22-game unbeaten run. It was always going to come to an end at some stage.

"Tring played very well, there are no complaints from us about the result.

"We are now looking forward to this week and hopefully a positive result.

"But the performance is more important to me."

Harrison added on Francois Vainker's Oxon call-up: "There are a lot of good young players around the county.

"It is good top have two of our ours in the team with Jack Brooks also playing."
