Slade Farm United won the first silverware in their short history with a 2-0 victory over fellow Division 1 side Ruscote in the Banbury District & Lord Jersey Mid Oxon Cup final.

Ruscote were on the back foot in the first half and the breakthrough came when Tom Pagan's shot rebounded off a post and Callum Wynne followed up to score.

In a finely balanced second half, Slade sealed it with a soft penalty when Lee Clack was tripped and Adam Barker stepped up to slot home the penalty.

Cropredy put their recent run of indifferent form behind them to see off Heyford Athletic 8-3 in the Banbury Charity Cup third round.

Matthew Jones convered a penalty to put Cropredy ahead, but Heyford quickly came back to equalise.

Richard Englishby and Matthew Jones, with his 50th for the season, made it 3-1, only for Heyford to square it up at the break.

Cropredy then took control, with strikes from Jones, Englishby (2), Steve Sneath, plus an own goal.

After a poor run of recent results, Broughton put on a great display in putting seven past Steeple Aston in the Premier Division.

Michael Bolton (3), Gareth Davies (2), Craig Hale and Andy Roeby were on the mark before Steeple scored a late consolation.

Finmere gave leaders Bodicote Sports a scare before succumbing 2-1.

Alan Reading put the visitors ahead, but Finmere's efforts were rewarded when Neil Hailstone snatched an equalier.

Steve Hobbs netted Bodicote's second, which proved just enough.

Slade Farm United Res guaranteed a top-two finish in Division 3 and promotion in their first season by beating third-placed Real Islip Res with goals from Chris Philpott and Jamie Philcox.
