Oxford Harlequins director of rugby Matt Maudsley praised his players' intensity after they won a third successive Oxfordshire Cup.

He said: "I think it was a really good game. I never thought after the first 20 minutes that we were going to lose it because the boys were just up for it.

"We played really well. It was as good if not better than when we beat them in the league.

"Considering we were missing some key players, the unity of the team was great.

"Key individuals were outstanding for us. Phil Rowe was without doubt the man-of-the-match and Frank Jones looked very experienced.

"You can see why Chinnor are top of the league. I have no doubt they will have their backs up against us in two weeks' time."

Chinnor coach Jason Bowers said: "I didn't feel we lost control of the game.

"We made a few wrong decisions technically and tactically and Quins were able to take advantage.

"Fair play to them. They raise their game when they play against us.

"We will look forward to putting the wrongs right in two weeks' time.

"We weren't able to get it together as a team, although I thought Pip Seymour had a really good game.

"Units in our team didn't function as well as we know they can."
