Will Skaife faces a late fitness test as Oxford City Stars visit Peterborough Islanders in English National League South Division A tomorrow.

Skaife suffered an arm injury, which forced him off after the first period of Stars' 5-1 win over Coventry Blaze in the English National League Cup last weekend.

Stars will again be without forwards Alan Green, who faces several weeks on the sidelines with a leg injury, and Nick Oliver.

Oxford, who will be bidding to make it six successive wins in all competitions, will have to dig deep to keep the scoreline in check as Peterborough have a larger rink.

However, Stars were the only squad to win there last season - a victory which took them into the play-offs.

Coach Darryl Morvan said: "Our first game of this season was against Peterborough, and they had already had the luxury of several warm-up games.

"They are a strong and accomplished side, and we were one of the few teams to beat them at their own rink last year.

"Although we are still not playing to our full potential, our development since our the last meeting against the Islanders has been evident in our five straight wins.

"Others came in against Cardiff Dragons who, along with Peterborough, are strongly fancied this season.

"This will be a difficult fixture, and it will not be made any easier by the fact we are missing Alan Green and Nick Oliver through injury.

"It will be a strong test of the squad's commitment and heart, but I am confident they will acquit themselves well."
