AN Oxford team are celebrating after winning the Hertfordshire Men’s League crown.
Éire Óg Oxford defeated St Dympnas Luton 11-6 in the final at Horspath Road to capture their third title,
Hosting the final by virtue of topping the league table, Éire Óg took a 5-2 half-time lead thanks to great points from Sean Quinn and Colin Forde.
As the rain started to pour down in the second half, the sides traded scores with a point from Liam Reale and a couple of frees putting the hosts 7-4 ahead.
Points from Adam Ferry and Quinn extended the lead to 10-4 with ten minutes left.
Luton narrowed the gap, but great defending by Oxford captain Noel Burke right at the end ensured his side held on for victory.
