ISA Mohammed claimed two touchdowns as Oxford Saints romped to a comfortable 28-0 victory away to Ouse Valley Eagles.

Saints’ fourth victory in their final away game of the Southern Conference season consolidated their fourth spot in the Division 1 Central table.

With both sides fielding weakened teams due to injury, it was the experience and running power of the Saints that made the difference.

They started strongly, but could not break down the home defence. With Eagles looking to come away with some points, Luke Stewart tried a 48-yard field goal, but his kick fell short of the posts.

Saints took the lead after James Sharples fed the ball to Mohammed, who charged over for a touchdown from nine yards.

Charlie Hill kicked the extra point to give them a 7-0 lead.

Saints had to wait until the second quarter to double their lead.

Sharples connected with Charlie Hill for a 19-yard gain and another first down.

Again from nine yards out, Mohammed added his second score, Hill again adding the extra point.

Back and forth drives from both teams saw neither find the endzone in the third quarter.

In the final session, Stewart missed another long- range chance to open the home account.

With Oxford’s offense back on the field, Shaun Griffin and Mohammed both claimed first downs and continued to run well against the Eagles defense.

A strike from Sharples gave Jeremie Leonard a

21-yard touchdown pass, with Hill adding another extra point for the visitors.

The Saints defence kept up the pressure, with Sion Evans putting in a great performance and delivering a

six-yard sack against the Ouse quarterback.

Further tackles paved the way for another scoring drive by Oxford, this time ending with Griffin crossing the line from two yards.

Hill completed the scoring with his fourth extra point of the day and the Saints finished on top 28-0.
