BRIAN Reidy was in superb form when clanging off 16 dolls (5-6-5) to steer George A to an impressive 3-0 win at Woodman, writes ANDY BEAL.

The victory saw the visitors get their Greene King Oxford & District League Section 1 title hopes back on track with a 31-29, 31-14, 30-27 triumph.

Reidy missed his first and 17th sticks, while George’s Kevin Stuart hit 15 (5-5-5) and James Morrison 14 (6-3-5).

Section 1 joint leaders Six Bells E Kidlington lost 2-1 at Gladiators A.

Chris Jenkins was the top dog for the hosts, clanging off 13 (4-4-5), as they secured victory in leg scores of 24-29, 29-22, 29-19.

Steve McAteer hit 15 (5-5-5) as Premier Section frontrunners Black Prince beat Chequers C 2-1 at home.

They fell behind when the visitors chased down 21 to win the opener by two.

But Prince hit back to win the following legs 29-23, 28-26.

Three Pigeons’ three-match winning run came to an end in a 2-1 defeat at Garsington Sports A. Despite taking the first leg 28-25, they went on to lose 31-26, 25-19.

Swan B overcame their A team for the second time this season when triumphing 2-1 in leg scores of 20-22, 28-24, 26-23.

Willy Waite’s 13-doll haul (4-5-4) could not prevent Section 2 pacesetters Bullnose Morris A suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Red Lion A Yarnton.

The visitors triumphed 19-19 (on three sticks), 30-25, 21-25.

Donnington Club A’s title hopes were dented when losing 2-1 at Florence Park A.

They won the first leg 18-13, but Florence triumphed 18-16, 26-20.

Six Bells D Kidlington are now on their tail after beating Gladiators B 3-0 – 26-13, 18-17, 18-16.

Section 3 title hopefuls Red Lion A Marston saw off Masons A 2-1 with leg scores of 21-16, 16-14, 14-17.

Vikings Sports A made it six wins in a row when beating Littlemore British Legion A.

They triumphed 20-17, 21-19, 17-13 to earn a 3-0 victory.

Alan Surman bagged a six in his 13-doll haul (3-4-6), but it proved in vain as Six Bells B Kidlington lost 2-1 to Chequers A – 22-15, 20-20 (on three sticks), 21-14.

Donnington Club C still lead the way after a 3-0 home win against Rose Hill Club.

Josh Breakspear top-scored with 13

(3-5-5) in their 20-19, 21-14, 23-20 victory.

Section 4 leaders Vikings Sports B’s

eight-match unbeaten run came to an end when they crashed to A 2-1 defeat.

After losing the first two legs 17-13, 23-18, they took the third 19-18.

George B kept their own title hopes alive when coming from behind to beat Red Lion Marston 2-1 – 14-19, 23-19, 21-16.

Also in the hunt are Six Bells A Kidlington who eased past Cricketers Arms 3-0 – 18-13, 20-19, 18-16 – with 15-year-old Josh Nelms leading the way with nine.

Red Lion B Yarnton suffered a scare at home to Blackbird, but remain a point clear in Section 5.

The visitors won the first leg 22-13, before Lion levelled in the second 16-13 and took the decider on three sticks after it had been tied 15-15.

Prince of Wales’ Section 6 title hopes were dented by a 3-0 defeat at Marston British Legion B – 17-13, 20-16, 13-10.

The top two met in Section 7, Tandem coming away from Chequers B with a 3-0 win in leg scores of 17-7, 14-10, 21-14.
