KARL Robinson was critical of Leeds United for not letting Oxford United know they would be bringing a weakened team for their friendly.

Kemar Roofe, whose move to Elland Road in 2016 was the reason for the pre-season fixture, was among the star names not involved at the Kassam Stadium.

The hosts won the game 4-3, but United’s manager was unhappy they had not been informed.

He said: “It would have been nice to know they weren’t bringing certain players for our fans.

“It’s not my problem, but at least tell us, as we do with everyone we play.”

It was not the only source of frustration for Robinson, who had seen his side lead 3-0 at the break before going backwards.

He said: “There’s more negatives than positives.

“The players know I’m not happy.

“That’s what we are now, we’re Oxford United and we’re going to be one of the big boys – maybe not financially, but we have to act like winners if you want to be successful.

“It doesn’t just happen and that second half wasn’t acceptable.”

James Henry, who scored twice, agreed.

He said: “It was probably a good one for the neutrals.

“But we were disappointed with the second half display.

“We were good in the first half.

“We were organised and looked a threat going forward, but in the second half for whatever reason we didn’t get it right.

“We were disjointed and let them back in the game.”
