PAUL Glenfield won the practice match for the next round of the Oxford Winter League on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Upper and Lower Dunmill in Hungerford.

In clear water, the Drennan Oxford matchman drew the end peg below the bridge at Upper Dunmill and had a decent perch plus lots of skimmer bream for a winning weight of 10lb 10oz 0drms.

Clubmate Martin Phipps (9.2.0) and Tony Hobbs (8.5.0) were second and third respectively.

Steve Johnson won the fifth round of Yarnton & District’s Winter League at the Tunnel Barn Farm fishery in Warwickshire.

Using his experience of the venue, Johnson caught carp at 14 metres on bread and close in on maggot, to record 54.3.0.

Another venue ace Andy Wiffin was second with 37.8.0, while Jamie Godfrey was third on 18.6.0

Kevin Jeacock topped Beehive AC’s Top Tackle Points League, by winning the final match at Lower Court.

Facing a head wind, Jeacock put together 71.0.0 of carp and skimmers to finish well clear of runner-up Steve Ferris, who weighed in 28.0.0. Tim Whitewood (18.0.0) was third.
