CHARLIE Sinton fell just short of a century, but Charlbury 2nd still secured a 114-run win over East & West Hendred 2nd in Division 6 of the OCA League.

Sinton top-scored with 98, while there were also contributions from Andy Glass (66no), Ayan Chakravartty (66) and Tim Jarvis (54) as Charlbury racked up 316-5.

Hendred were then restricted to 202-9 in their reply, William Bennett hitting 55.

Oxenford 2nd hammered hosts Faringdon 2nd by 194 runs.

The visitors posted 247-7 as Rafiullah Kakar hit 60.

Waqas Mir then claimed 4-34 and Richard Rowley returned 3-10 as Faringdon managed only 53 all out.

Tony Launchbury’s 6-27 was not enough for Kidlington 2nd, who lost by two wickets against visitors Wootton & Boars Hill.

Andy Oliver’s 96 was key in Kidlington’s 171 all out.

Launchbury’s haul kept Kidlington in the hunt, but an unbeaten 53 from Rubban Gill saw Wootton to 172-8.

Stephen Cooper took 6-23 to help Eynsham 2nd to a nine-wicket win against visitors Stanton Harcourt 2nd in Division 7.

Cooper’s haul sent Stanton tumbling to 46 all out, before Eynsham eased to 50-1.

Leaders Middleton Cheney 2nd were too strong for visitors Kilkenny 2nd, running out 129-run victors.

Andy Cross hit 96 not out to steer Middleton to 279-4.

Kilkenny fell for 150 in reply as Ben Ream took 3-13 and Harry Boynton 3-14.

Division 8 North leaders Charlbury 3rd were beaten by Chadlington 2nd, who leapfrogged them to top spot.

Charlbury posted 228-6, Abi Flory top-scoring with 54 not out.

Glenn McCallum then hit 73 not out and George Chipchase 58 to steer Chadlington to 229-4.

In Division 8 South, a high-scoring match at Dorchester 2nd ended with the home side beating Sunningwell 2nd by 24 runs.

Chris Rudling smashed an outstanding 132 not out as Dorchester racked up 275-5 in their 45 overs.

Youngster Dom Whinfrey hammered a 15-ball half-century in Sunningwell’s reply, before falling for 71. He hit eight sixes in his innings.

Watlington 2nd crushed Marcham 2nd by 120 runs as Mark Taylor and Rama Garimella hit centuries.
