IT HAS been a team effort to ensure Oxfordshire’s trip to Twickenham runs as smoothly as possible this weekend.

After only finding out they had reached the final last Saturday, it has been all hands to the pump to ensure everything is prepared in the space of seven days.

Oxfordshire RFU’s chair of representative rugby Doug Bosley and wife, Jenny, who is the disciplinary secretary, have been at the forefront of the organising, along with former players and other local volunteers.

A hotel and transport have been sorted, new embroidered blazers and shirts ordered, while the RFU required profiles for the entire squad to go in the matchday programme.

They have also arranged for Desso Sports Systems, Bellinger Vauxhall, Wykham Park Farm, Athlete Centre and Rectory Homes to sponsor personalised kit.

Jenny Bosley said: “It’s been really hard going at times.

“Finding a hotel was difficult because it’s a bank holiday, on Saturday we’ve got the Premiership final and the FA Cup final. Uxbridge was the nearest we could find.

“It has been complete team work, so hopefully on Sunday we’ll be able to sit in the stand and watch it.”
