Wantage missed out on victory by a point in the Cecil Williams Shield Gala, despite a superb display from the club's 12-year-old boys who won all six of their events. 'S boys led the way for the Wantage White Horse at the Cecil Williams Shield Gala.

The youngers starred for the club winning all six of their events.

Guy Giles won both the 100m fly and 100m freestyle, while Josh Harrop took the 100m backstroke and Josh Whittall took the 100m breaststroke.

The trio then teamed up with Laurence Lilley (10), to storm home in both the 4 x 25m freestyle and medley relays.

Matthew Senior (9) won the 25m freestyle and 25m backstroke, while Peter Birch (10) took the 50m breaststroke, and Lilley (10) won the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.

Harry James (11) took 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke titles.

Katrina Woodbridge (9) roared home in the 25m freestyle and Alice Fletcher Etherington (11) lifted the 50m back title.

There were also wins for Ellie Senior (12) in the 100m backstroke and Jasmine Griffiths (9) in the 25m butterfly.

Gala result: 1 Henley 63, 2 Wantage 62.
