CRICKET: Twyford march on

Two players stepped up from Twyford's second team to help them to victory.

Jack Deal scored 78 in Twyford's 187 all out, and then Adam Bone claimed 4-20 as Westbury were restricted to 121-7.

Tetsworth lost a final-ball thriller at home to Charl- bury.

Hyron Shallow had a rare failure as Tetsworth were bowled out for 127, Marcus Rump taking 6-25.

In difficult batting conditions, Charlbury crawled to the target with eight wickets down, Andy Timms finishing unbeaten on 34.

King's Sutton surprised Oxford Caribbean with a two-wicket win.

Caribbean managed only 145-4, Dave Prosper hitting 55 and Ryan Mills 47, before Sutton edged home at 146-8 with Wayne Sellwood unbeaten on 40.

Horley thrashed Hook Norton by 122 runs.

Jonathan Hart (92) and Nick Tarrant (53) helped Horley to 242-8, and then Hooky were restricted to 120-7.

In Division 2, only two matches survived the down- pours.

Minster Lovell were indebted to 15-year-old leg-spinner Daryl Johnson as they saw off Faringdon by five wickets.

The youngster took 5-19 as Faringdon were shot out for 93. Minster then got home after a long rain delay at 95-5.

Freeland defeated Garsington by 72 runs.

Russell Todd (41) helped Freeland to 149-8, before Ben Symonds (4-24) and Ady Buckingham (3-17) helped dismiss Garsington for 78.

The top-of-the-clash between Marcham and East & West Hendred was abandoned due to the rain with Marcham struggling on 67-5.

In Division 3, East Oxford marched on with a crushing ten-wicket win over continued their dominance as they Eyn- sham.

Mohammad Sarfraz (5-23) and Tauqeer Hussain (5-24) did the damage as Eynsham were shot out for 53.

Tauqeer then hit 30 not out as East Oxford cruised in.

Shivas Jogi (73) and Stuart Huxtable (70) helped Radley to a 73-run win over Combe.

Uffington were skittled for a paltry 35 as Marsh Gibbon won by 97 runs.

Matt Mead (50no) had helped Marsh up to 132-8, before Carl Needham (4-17) and Grant Cross (3-12) ran through the Uffington order.

Oxford Rescue edged out Fringford by three wickets in Division 4.

Richard Joiner (4-16) and Ian Hedley (4-43) sent Fringford crashing to 98 all out.

David Wylie then hit 33 as Rescue edged home.

In Division 5, Charlbury 2nd beat East Oxford 2nd by 19 runs.

Tim Jarvis (66) saw Charlbury to 204-6, and then youngsters Ben Godfrey and Ollie Hollings both took 3-35 as East Oxford fell to 185 all out.

Rob Lane took 4-30 as Swinbrook skittled Chesterton for 68 to set up a five-wicket win.

Pete Jones's 6-33 for Eynsham 2nd proved in vain as they lost to Wolvercote by 147 runs in Division 6.

Saj Razzaq (56) and Usman Hanif (50) took Wolvercote to 204-7, and then Eynsham were rolled over for 57, John Chrystal taking 3-16.

Great Horwood 2nd beat Cassington by four wickets, thanks to Terry McStraw's 4-40 and Neil Taylor's 39 not out.

In Division 7, Risinghurst won a low-scoring affair against Marcham 2nd by three wickets.

Nick Poulter (4-16) and Humayun Iqbal (3-16) restricted Marcham to 97-9, before Risinghurst struggled to the target as Deepak Patel took 3-14.

Francis Brown (39) helped Wantage to a six-wicket win at Chipping Norton.

In Division 8, Jim Williams (4-30) and Stuart Brownless (3-8) set up Hook Norton 2nd's seven-wicket win over Combe 2nd.

They sent Combe reeling to 67 all out, before Grant Wallis (31no) steered Hooky home.

Stonesfield 2nd lost their first league game of the season with an 81-run defeat by Garsington 2nd.

Asif Shah hit 89 and Zubair Shafique 70 as Garsington posted 190-6.

Mark Kerry then took 5-46 in Stonesfield's 109 all out.

In Division 9, East Oxford 3rd beat Oxford Rescue 2nd by 104 runs.

Akeel Saeed (86no) and Gersh Whiteman (76no) took East Oxford to 209-3, before Rescue fell to 105 all out.

THE Steve Dixon Cup and Telegraph Cup quarter-finals, scheduled to take place yesterday, were all washed out without a ball being bowled.
